Alejandra Bravo was elected as the City Councillor for Ward 9—Davenport in 2022. A Ward 9 resident for over two decades, she first became active in her children’s school in 2000, becoming the Chair of the Davenport TDSB Ward Council. Alejandra has a 25-year history of leadership with civil society organizations, including extensive governance experience with boards ranging from Art Starts, a community arts organization operating in under-serviced neighbourhoods, to serving on the Toronto Board of Health.

She is a champion for better transit, affordable housing, and ensuring that city services work for everyone. As City Councillor, Alejandra is working hard to get things done for Davenport. 

Alejandra currently serves as Chair of Economic and Community Development Committee, Vice-Chair of the Board of Health, Chair of the Francophone Affairs Advisory Committee, and is a member of Executive Committee, Toronto & East York Community Council, Toronto Arts Council, McCormick Playground Arena Board of Management, and all local Business Improvement Areas in Ward 9. She has previously served as a member of Budget Committee, General Government Committee, and Toronto Preservation Board.

Faith leaders join Mayor and Councillors in call for a caring and supportive approach to shelters and homelessness

With the need for safe indoor spaces at an all-time high, faith leaders gathered at City Hall today alongside Mayor Olivia Chow, Councillor Alejandra Bravo, and members of City Council to support shelters and services along the housing continuum to assist people who are unhoused.
